Shizuka is a cross between Golden Delicious and Indo. It has a moderately vigorous growth habit and is productive. The skin is yellow to yellow-green. The large, round apples ripen and are ready to eat in early October. The flesh is moderately firm and juicy. Shizuka is sweet to very sweet in flavor. It is a triploid, meaning that it cannot be used to pollinate other varieties. Mature tree height and width is about 12-15 feet. For planting, apple trees prefer full sun and slightly acidic soil.
