Blueberry - Brigitta (Northern Highbush) #5 Pot
Developed in Australia, Brigitta blueberry, is an older and very widely grown variety. It is a tall vigorous upright bush that produces masses of large, sweet, pale-blue berries all ripening at the same time making this variety perfect for processing. Brigitta is now grown all around the world due to it’s high cropping capacity. This variety is probably one of the best keeping varieties available.
Although Brigitta does not need a second variety for pollination purposes, a higher yield and larger fruit will result if a second variety is planted nearby. This deciduous variety is frost tolerant and does require a chilling period for good fruit set so not recommended for warmer climates. Like all blueberries, Brigitta does need an acid soil to grow well. Blueberries are suitable for growing in a pot or the garden, and the delicious fruit will keep well refrigerated or frozen. Once mature the yield per plant can be up to 12-19 pounds per plant. Prefers a full sun to part shade position and requires an acid soil to grow well.
