Pecan Trees - Mahan (Type 2) #5 Pot


The Mahan Pecan tree is an early bearing tree that was first introduced in 1927. It yields approximately 32 nuts per pound, and the nuts are large and easy to crack open because of their thin and fragile shell.  Inside, the kernel is has a rich flavor. The Mahan ripens in late fall. The Mahan is a Type-2 pollinator and should be pollinated with Type-1 pecan trees. It is hardy in Zones 6-10 and can be planted in full sun or partial shade. The soil should be deep, moist, and well-drained.
